This calculator produces an estimate based on typical Australian gardening and landscaping rates. Final pricing depends on the specific hedge species, condition and site access.

Base rate by height
Each height band maps to a per-lineal-metre rate. Low hedges under 1.5m start at $5/m, medium (1.5–3m) at $10/m, tall (3–5m) at $15/m and very tall (5m+) at $22/m. These rates reflect average labour and equipment costs.
One side is the base rate. Both sides multiplies by 1.7x. Both sides plus top multiplies by 2.0x. Overgrown hedges (6–12 months) add 50%, severely overgrown (12+ months) doubles the base rate.

Green waste removal
Estimated waste volume is calculated from hedge dimensions. Removal is charged at $40/m³ by default. Taller and denser hedges produce significantly more clippings.

Access and minimum fee
Ladder-required access adds $75, difficult access (slopes, tight spaces) adds $150. A minimum job fee ($150 default) ensures small jobs cover travel and setup costs.
